Answers to the questions municipal fleets and contractors ask most often before specifying Multihog equipment.

What is a multi-purpose municipal tractor?

A multi-purpose municipal tractor is a compact tool-carrier chassis that mounts different work attachments via a quick-attach system. The same Multihog runs a street-sweeping head in summer, a plow and salt spreader in winter, a flail mower in fall, and specialty attachments like pressure washers, manhole cutters, or line removers as needed. The point is fleet consolidation: one chassis to insure, train operators on, and stock parts for, instead of three or four single-purpose machines that each sit idle most of the year.

How does Multihog compare to a dedicated street sweeper or plow truck?

A dedicated sweeper out-produces a Multihog on heavy debris and long arterial routes. A dedicated plow truck out-produces it on highway plowing. Multihog wins on the consolidated math: one chassis covering downtown sweeping, sidewalks, parking decks, mid-rise mowing, and seasonal snow work, then earning through the rest of the year. Most departments run both: a dedicated platform for the heavy-volume work and a Multihog for everything that would otherwise need a second specialty vehicle.

Which Multihog range fits my department?

Sweeper Range (CV350) if the primary job is street sweeping with seasonal snow and grounds work. Compact Range (CL or CX75 MKII) if you're sized for sidewalks, bike lanes, parks, or downtown corridors and want a 75 HP entry to the platform. MX Turbo Range (MXC130 or MX130) if you're a state DOT, airport, or large-facility operation running heavy attachments year-round and need 130 HP, 7,000 kg GVW, and 120 L/min hydraulics. What attachments are available?

Is Multihog cheaper than buying separate trucks?

Capital cost on a fully outfitted Multihog with three or four attachments is typically less than purchasing two single-purpose chassis (e.g. one sweeper plus one plow truck). The bigger savings are operational: one chassis to insure, one service contract, one operator certification, and one parts catalog instead of three or four. Most departments recover the differential within three to five years on utilization alone, and the chassis is still earning year four through ten.
