Global Environmental
One engine. Less maintenance. Built for real municipal sweeping.

Your Authorized Global Environmental Dealer
Brown Equipment Company is proud to represent the full line of Global Environmental street sweepers, purpose-built mechanical, regenerative air, and vacuum air models, plus plug-in electric and hybrid variants. Made in San Bernardino, California, Global sweepers are the choice of NYC DSNY, municipal fleets, and private contractors who value single-engine simplicity, stainless steel construction, and real zero-emission options.
One engine. Less maintenance. Built for real municipal sweeping.
Global Environmental Products builds municipal street sweepers with a single-engine design philosophy. Most competitors in the segment run a separate auxiliary engine for the sweeping system; Global runs one chassis engine that powers both drive and sweeping function. The result is one set of oil changes, one filter kit, one fuel system, and one component to keep in service rather than two. Fewer points of failure and fewer line items in the maintenance budget.
The lineup covers mechanical broom sweepers, vacuum-assisted dust-suppression sweepers, and air-vacuum sweepers sized from compact urban routes through full-size arterial work. Stainless steel hoppers across the line so a department doesn't replace rust-through bodies every three or four years (a common failure point on cheaper sweeper platforms running carbon steel hoppers in salt-belt climates). Turning radius as tight as 12.5 feet handles residential cul-de-sacs and downtown alleys without backing up, which matters for the route productivity numbers fleet managers actually track.
Brown Equipment Company is an authorized Global dealer. We sell new sweepers, stock the wear parts (brooms, vacuum hoses, hopper liners), and run factory-trained service across our seven Midwest locations. The single-engine design is also a service-side benefit: when a sweeper comes in for warranty or scheduled maintenance, the technician is working on one powerplant rather than coordinating across two.

Why Global Environmental?
Made in the USA
Every Global sweeper is designed and built in San Bernardino, California, with parts supply and factory support available through our dealer network.
Single-Engine Simplicity
One engine powers both chassis and sweeping system on diesel models, half the oil changes, half the filters, and one less engine to fail versus dual-engine competitors.
Zero-Emission Options
M3EV and M4EV are the only heavy-duty plug-in electric street sweepers made in the USA. 250 kWh batteries deliver a full shift of zero-emission sweeping.
Local Support from Brown Equipment
Factory-trained technicians, OEM parts inventory, and responsive service across our Midwest territory, we keep your Global sweepers on the street.

Global Environmental: Common Buyer Questions
Answers to the questions municipal fleets and contractors ask most often before specifying Global Environmental equipment.
- What's the practical difference between a single-engine and dual-engine sweeper?
- A dual-engine sweeper runs a separate auxiliary engine for the sweeping function. Two engines means two oil change intervals, two filter kits, two fuel systems, and two failure points. A single-engine sweeper runs one chassis engine for both drive and sweeping. Less maintenance complexity, lower fuel burn at idle, fewer components to take out of service. Most modern municipal sweeper specs are moving toward single-engine designs for exactly this reason.
- What is the difference between mechanical broom, regenerative air, and vacuum sweepers?
- Mechanical broom uses spinning brooms to lift debris into the hopper. Best for heavy debris (leaves, gravel, post-storm cleanup). Regenerative air uses a fan to lift debris with vacuum and recirculates the air for dust suppression. Best for routine street sweeping with consistent dust control. Vacuum uses pure suction without broom contact. Best for dust-sensitive routes (downtown, residential) where the broom action would kick up too much particulate.
- Why does turning radius matter on a street sweeper?
- A municipal sweeper running residential routes hits cul-de-sacs, alley junctions, downtown corners, and parking lot transitions constantly. A tight turning radius (12.5 feet on Global's compact lineup) means the operator drives through the turn instead of backing up to reposition. Across a full shift, the time savings on tight turns add up to meaningful route productivity gains, often a difference of 1-2 hours per route per shift on residential coverage.
- How does the stainless hopper extend service life?
- Carbon steel hoppers in salt-belt climates corrode through within 3-5 years on average, and a body replacement is a 5-figure repair that takes the sweeper out of service for weeks. Stainless steel hoppers don't corrode the same way; they hold up across the chassis lifecycle. The capital premium on stainless pays back the first time you skip a body replacement.
- How does Global compare to Elgin, Tymco, or Schwarze?
- Elgin, Tymco, and Schwarze have larger market share in some regions. Global's differentiators are the single-engine design (lower TCO), the stainless hopper standard (longer body life), and the compact-chassis turning radius (better residential and urban productivity). For high-volume arterial work where chassis power matters most, Elgin or Tymco may spec heavier. For municipal residential and downtown routes, Global usually wins on TCO. BEC can demo Global on your routes alongside whatever you're currently running.
- What service and parts support does BEC offer for Global?
- Authorized dealer with factory-trained service across our seven Midwest locations. Wear parts (brooms, vacuum hoses, hopper liners, fan belts) stock at our service centers. Most stocked items ship same-day upon request from our Indianapolis distribution center.
