SnowDogg is the snowplow line within the Buyers Products family. The platform spans straight blades, V-plows, and expandable wing plows sized for half-ton patrol trucks through Class 8 municipal plow trucks. Stainless steel plow bodies (rust-resistant, no annual rust treatment), trip-edge cutting bars, and direct-lift hydraulic systems that mount cleanly to the chassis OEM electrical without adapter wiring.
The lineup is organized by blade type. Straight blades (HD Series, MD Series) cover the bulk of municipal route work where the plow is angled and the operator follows the curb. V-plows (VMD Series, VX Series) split deep or compacted snow with the V configuration, then convert to scoop or angle mode for clean-up. Expandable wing plows extend the working width on the fly so a single truck can cover a wider lane on plow-and-return routes. All blades pair with the Buyers hydraulic and electrical kit, so a department buying SnowDogg gets a single bill of materials for the upfit.

- What is the difference between a straight blade, a V-plow, and an expandable wing plow?
- A straight blade is a single, angled cutting bar. Best for routine route plowing where the operator follows the curb at speed. A V-plow has two blades that form a V, scoop, or straight configuration on demand. Best for deep or compacted snow that a straight blade pushes against instead of through. An expandable wing plow has hinged wing sections that extend the working width on the fly. Best for wider lanes or plow-and-return routes where coverage matters more than configuration flexibility.
- What is a trip-edge cutting bar?
- A trip edge is the lower portion of the plow blade that pivots backward (trips) when it hits a fixed obstacle. The trip protects the chassis and the plow body when the blade catches a hidden manhole cover, a curb stone, or a frost heave. Without a trip edge, a hidden obstacle can damage the moldboard, the hydraulic lift, or the truck frame. Trip-edge protection is standard on all SnowDogg blades.
- Which SnowDogg blade fits my truck?
- Half-ton trucks typically run the MD Series straight blade. Heavier pickups (3/4 and 1-ton) step up to HD straight or VMD V-plow. Class 6 through Class 8 municipal plow trucks run HD straight or VX V-plow. Departments running expandable wing plows usually do so on dedicated wide-lane route trucks. BEC can match the blade to your chassis class and route mix.
- Does SnowDogg work on my existing chassis?
- Yes, in most cases. The Buyers mount kit covers half-ton through Class 8 chassis with standard OEM electrical, so the plow bolts up without fab work on the vast majority of common fleet trucks. Older or non-standard chassis sometimes need a custom mount; BEC can confirm fit before you commit.
- Does BEC integrate the plow with a SaltDogg spreader on the same truck?
- Yes. SnowDogg plow + SaltDogg spreader + Buyers hydraulics + Buyers electrical is the standard BEC plow truck package on the Buyers Products platform.
