Mobile and industrial power systems for plow truck hydraulics.
Certified Power Solutions (CPS) builds the hydraulic power systems, valve banks, and control electronics that drive plow lifts, spreader augers, dump cylinders, and wing controls on full-size municipal plow trucks. The platform is the hydraulic side of the upfit: where Force America provides the spreader controller and operator interface, CPS provides the pumps, valves, and electrical that actually move the hydraulic fluid the controller commands.
The lineup spans gear pumps and load-sensing piston pumps sized for chassis class, modular valve banks (PVG and similar) that handle plow / wing / spreader / dump on a single block, and the wiring harnesses and electrical kits that integrate the hydraulics to the chassis OEM and the operator controls. The system is engineered for cold-weather reliability on a Midwest plow truck duty cycle: thermal-rated seals, anti-cavitation pump designs, and load-sensing geometry that doesn't burn pump capacity on idle. The integration with Force America joysticks and controllers is standard on most BEC plow truck builds.
Brown Equipment Company integrates CPS hydraulics as part of a complete BEC plow truck package. We stock replacement pumps, valve cartridges, and electrical assemblies at our service centers, and run factory-trained service across our seven Midwest locations. When a plow truck loses hydraulic function in February, the same shop that built the upfit handles the repair.

Certified Power Solutions: Common Buyer Questions
Answers to the questions municipal fleets and contractors ask most often before specifying Certified Power Solutions equipment.
- What does Certified Power Solutions do that the chassis OEM doesn't?
- The chassis OEM provides the engine, transmission, and a basic hydraulic capability sized for the truck's general use. A plow truck upfit needs more hydraulic flow and pressure to run a plow lift, a spreader auger, a wing plow, and a dump cylinder simultaneously, and the OEM hydraulics aren't sized for that. CPS provides the secondary hydraulic system (pump, valve bank, electrical) that handles the upfit work without overloading the chassis OEM system.
- What is a load-sensing pump and why does it matter?
- A load-sensing pump delivers hydraulic flow on demand. When the operator isn't using the plow or spreader, the pump is at idle and the chassis isn't burning horsepower on hydraulic capacity nobody is using. When the operator lifts the plow or runs the auger, the pump ramps up to meet the demand. On a plow truck running a full shift, the load-sensing geometry delivers measurable fuel savings vs. fixed-displacement pump designs that burn capacity at idle.
- Does CPS pair with Force America controllers?
- Yes. CPS hydraulics and Force America controllers are the standard pair on most BEC plow truck builds. Force America provides the operator interface (joystick, spreader controller, telemetry), CPS provides the hydraulic muscle (pump, valves, electrical) that the controller commands. Single bill of materials, single warranty path, single shop for service.
- Can CPS retrofit to my existing plow truck?
- Yes, in most cases. The platform is designed for both new builds and retrofits. Common retrofit scenarios: upgrading from a fixed-displacement pump to a load-sensing pump for fuel savings, or replacing an aging valve bank with a modular PVG block to consolidate function and reduce hose count. BEC handles the retrofit at our Midwest service centers.
- What service and parts support does BEC offer for CPS?
- BEC integrates and services CPS hydraulics across our seven Midwest locations. Replacement pumps, valve cartridges, and electrical assemblies stock at our service centers. Factory-trained service. Most stocked items ship same-day upon request from our Indianapolis distribution center.
