2024 Hydro-Spade 800 Non-CDL Hydro Excavation Truck
Hydro excavation specifying often comes down to a single tradeoff: chassis weight class versus payload. A non-CDL build keeps the truck accessible to any licensed driver in your operation, but every gallon of debris capacity has to be earned within that GVWR ceiling. That is why 800-gallon debris tanks paired with side-mounted water tanks remain the sweet spot for utility locating, potholing, and residential service work.
Operate with any licensed driver: non-CDL chassis keeps the truck in rotation across your crew
Dig year-round with a 420,000 BTU boiler for frozen ground and cold-weather potholing
Cut through compacted soil with 10 GPM at 3,000 PSI water pressure
Skip the transfer case: hydrostatic blower and water pump drive simplify maintenance
Run simple controls with full hydraulic boom operation and a wireless remote
The Hydro-Spade 800 pairs an 800-gallon steel debris tank with two 200-gallon side-mounted water tanks, a 10 GPM at 3,000 PSI water system, and a 6-inch Hg PD vacuum blower for daylighting and potholing without overloading the chassis. Built on a Freightliner M2 with a 300 HP Cummins and Allison 3500 RDS transmission, this 2024 unit shows 90,186 miles and 411 chassis hours, and it carries a 420,000 BTU boiler for cold-weather digging plus a hydrostatic blower and water pump drive that skips the transfer case entirely. Full hydraulic boom operation, hydraulic rear door and locks, a cyclone separator, and a wireless controller round out a truck that runs simple, with no computers between the operator and the work.
