Answers to the questions municipal fleets and contractors ask most often before specifying Venturo equipment.

What is a truck-mounted crane and when do I use one?

A truck-mounted crane is a hydraulic crane mounted on a service truck chassis. Use it for roadside fleet repair (tire changes, drivetrain pulls, engine swaps on the side of the road), lift-station maintenance (pulling submersible pumps for service), shop service trucks that handle pump and motor work, and any job that traditionally took two vehicles (one to lift, one to carry tools).

Who typically buys Venturo cranes?

Fleet departments running mobile repair trucks that pull starters, alternators, tires, and engines on the side of the road. Water and wastewater departments pulling submersible pumps out of lift stations on a maintenance schedule. Public works departments that want one service truck to handle both fleet maintenance and roadside utility work. The common thread is daily-use lift work, not occasional rental scenarios.

What is a mechanic body?

A mechanic body is a service truck body that integrates a crane, toolbox-style storage, parts access, and lighting on one chassis. Sized for medium-duty service trucks, the mechanic body lets one truck replace the typical two-vehicle setup (one crane truck, one tool truck) most departments use today. Common spec on fleet and water-department service trucks.

How is Venturo different from other truck-mounted crane brands?

The differentiator is that the cranes are sized around the lift loads fleet and water departments actually pull (lift-station pumps, drivetrain components, tires) rather than peak ratings on a spec sheet. Reach, swing, and outrigger geometry are tuned for the heaviest day-to-day loads, which means the crane reaches and lifts the way the job needs without over-spec'ing the chassis. Does BEC integrate the crane on a chassis you provide?

Yes. Venturo cranes are part of the BEC service truck package: chassis, crane, body, hydraulics, electrical, integrated and delivered with one warranty contact. We can also retrofit a Venturo crane to an existing chassis if the upfit makes sense for the duty cycle.

What service and parts support does BEC offer for Venturo?
