Mongoose
Mainline jetting power without a CDL or full-size truck

Your Authorized Mongoose Jetter Dealer
Brown Equipment Company is an authorized dealer for the full line of Mongoose sewer jetters, from trailer-mounted units that tow behind a pickup truck to truck-mounted jetters built for daily mainline cleaning. We provide sales, parts, service, and expert support for every Mongoose product.
Mainline jetting power without a CDL or full-size truck
Mongoose trailer jetters fill the slot between handheld jetter carts and full-size combination sewer trucks. The platform delivers true mainline cleaning capability (60 to 80 GPM, 2,000+ PSI) behind a half-ton or three-quarter-ton pickup, so a department can run a second jetting crew without a second CDL operator or a second combo chassis. The lineup spans small-utility 184 series units up through the 184-HD, the best-selling trailer jetter in the industry, and a heavier hot-water Hotline series for grease-heavy commercial lines.
The platform's signature is the Mongoose Run Dry pump, which survives accidental dry-fire events that would destroy a standard high-pressure pump. The practical impact is that a new operator's mistake doesn't cost a department thousands of dollars in pump rebuilds, and crew turnover stops being a per-incident liability. Other touches that make the line work for municipal duty: hydraulic hose reels with adjustable speed, anti-freeze protection on cold-weather units, debris-resistant water filtration, and a control layout that a junior operator can pick up in a shift.
Mongoose is built in the same Dixon, Illinois facility as Sewer Equipment Co. and Ramvac, so the parts catalog and service network are shared. Brown Equipment Company is the authorized dealer for Mongoose across Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Wisconsin, with same-day parts shipping upon request from our Indianapolis distribution center and factory-trained service at our Midwest centers. Demos available on your routes.

Mongoose Jetter 184-HD
The best-selling trailer jetter in the industry. Delivers mainline cleaning power behind a standard pickup truck with no CDL required. The exclusive Run Dry pump survives accidental dry-fire events that would destroy conventional pumps, protecting your investment from costly operator mistakes.

Mongoose Jetter 254-HD
Step up from the 184-HD when you need more water capacity and higher flow rates for larger mainlines. Same tow-behind convenience, still no CDL, but with the muscle to clean 8-inch to 15-inch lines efficiently. Hydraulic hose reel with level wind keeps operations smooth on longer runs.

Mongoose Jetter 184
The standard-duty Mongoose trailer jetter built for contractors and smaller municipalities that need reliable drain cleaning without the heavy-duty specs of the 184-HD. Same proven platform and tow-behind convenience in a more economical package for routine lateral and small mainline work.

Mongoose Jetter 254
Higher flow rate trailer jetter for mid-size municipal fleets needing more volume for 8-inch to 12-inch mainline cleaning. Larger water tank reduces refill stops, and the robust pump platform handles daily duty cycles in demanding sewer environments.

Mongoose 2600 Flatbed Jetter
Truck-mounted jetter built on a flatbed chassis for maximum water capacity and daily mainline cleaning. The 2600 platform carries significantly more water than a trailer jetter, reducing refill downtime. Dedicated jetting power without the vacuum system, purpose-built for crews focused on high-volume pipe cleaning.

Mongoose 2600 Enclosed Jetter
Enclosed-body truck jetter that protects all equipment from weather and road debris. Same high-capacity jetting platform as the 2600 Flatbed with the added benefit of a fully enclosed compartment, keeps components clean, secure, and organized. Ideal for municipalities that store trucks outdoors year-round.

Mongoose 2600 Classic
The proven workhorse configuration of the Mongoose truck jetter lineup. Built on a conventional truck chassis with straightforward hydraulic controls and reliable performance. Carries enough water for a full shift of mainline cleaning without refilling, making it the go-to choice for municipal sewer departments.

Run Dry Pump
The exclusive Mongoose Run Dry pump is engineered to survive accidental dry-fire events that would destroy conventional jetter pumps. This self-protecting pump design eliminates one of the most expensive risks in jetter operation, giving operators and fleet managers peace of mind during daily cleaning operations.

Wireless Remote Control
Wireless remote control system that enables true one-person jetter operation. Control water pressure, hose reel functions, and engine throttle from the manhole, no need to walk back and forth between the jetter and the work area. Increases productivity and improves safety for solo operators.

Hydraulic Hose Reel
Heavy-duty hydraulic hose reel with automatic level wind for tangle-free operation. Powered retrieval eliminates manual cranking at the end of every run. Available in configurations for both trailer and truck-mounted Mongoose jetters with capacities from 500 to 800 feet of jetter hose.

Anti-Freeze Protection System
Cold weather protection system that prevents freeze damage to water tanks, pumps, and plumbing on Mongoose jetters. Enables year-round operation in northern climates without draining the system overnight. Essential for municipalities that need sewer cleaning capability during winter months.

Mongoose: Common Buyer Questions
Answers to the questions municipal fleets and contractors ask most often before specifying Mongoose equipment.
- What is a trailer jetter?
- A trailer jetter is a pickup-towable sewer cleaning unit that pairs a high-pressure water pump with a hose reel on a trailer chassis. Crews use it for mainline cleaning, lateral cleanouts, grease blockages, and grit removal on routes too small to justify a full combination truck. The advantage over a full combo: no CDL required to tow, lower capital cost, and the towing pickup goes back to other duty when the trailer is parked.
- What is the Run Dry pump and why does it matter?
- The Run Dry pump is Mongoose's high-pressure pump design that survives accidental dry-fire events that would destroy a standard pump. A new operator misses a valve setting, the water tank runs empty mid-job, the seal melts, the pump's done. With Run Dry, the pump tolerates the event and keeps running. For departments rotating junior operators through the jetter crew, this single feature pays for itself the first time someone makes the inevitable mistake.
- How does a trailer jetter compare to a full combination truck?
- A full combination truck (SEC Model 900, Vactor, Vac-Con) wins on volume: bigger water tanks, bigger debris tanks, and an integrated vacuum so one crew cleans and hauls the spoils. A trailer jetter wins on flexibility and crew count: pickup-towable, no CDL, one operator, lower capital cost, and the pickup goes back to other work when the trailer is parked. Most departments run both: combo trucks for arterial routes, trailer jetters for cleanouts and second-crew coverage.
- Which Mongoose model fits my workload?
- 184-HD for high-volume mainline work and the broadest spec compatibility. Hotline if you have grease-heavy commercial lines that benefit from heated water. 100 or 200 Series for lighter-duty lateral and cleanout work. BEC can size the unit to your typical route mix and demo the platform on your streets before you commit.
- Is the trailer jetter a replacement for a combination truck?
- Not for high-volume mainline cleaning, no. A combo truck out-produces a trailer jetter on volume. The trailer jetter is a complement: second crew coverage, lateral cleanouts, after-hours emergency runs, and routes where a full combo can't fit or the dump cycle is too far. Most departments end up with one combo per shift plus a trailer jetter or two for flex.
- Where does BEC service Mongoose?
- All seven BEC service centers across Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Factory-trained technicians on the Mongoose platform. Same-day parts shipping upon request from our Indianapolis distribution center for most stocked items.
